Xiaomi Redmi 4, Redmi 4A specs and photos outed by China's TENAA

Xiaomi, one of China's top smartphone manufacturers recently launched its high-end flagship Mi Note 2 and Mi MIX in home market of China. In addition the company is also reportedly working on two new smartphones targeted at the mid-range market, where its strength lies.

The new mid-rangers are Redmi 4 and Redmi 4A and are successors of Redmi 3. We have already seen live photos of Redmi 4, and now the phones have been certified by China's TENAA. Similar to Redmi 3, the Redmi 4 and Redmi 4A will have a metal unibody design, but now has a rear mounted fingerprint scanner.

It's worth mentioning that the original Redmi 3 did not have a fingerprint scanner, but later Xiaomi released various variants (Redmi 3 Pro, Redmi 3X, Redmi 3S) featuring fingerprint scanner including Redmi 3S Prime, which was launched in India.

As far as specs are concerned, the Redmi 4 features a octa-core Snapdragon 625 processor, instead of Snapdragon 616 on Redmi 3 and will run Android Marshmallow based MIUI 8. Rest of the specs will remain unchanged that includes 5-inch Full HD display, 3GB RAM, 32GB storage, 13MP rear camera, 5MP front camera, Hybrid dual-SIM slot, 4G VoLTE and 4100mAh battery. As mentioned earlier it will have a fingerprint scanner.

The Xiaomi Redmi 4A, on the other hand is a toned down version of Redmi 4 with 5-inch HD display, octa-core 425 processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB storage, 13MP/5MP cameras, hybrid dual-SIM slots, 4G VoLTE, fingerprint scanner and 3030mAh battery. It will also run Android Marshmallow based MIUI 8.
