OnePlus 3T to release in India "shortly"

Last week OnePlus unveiled an upgraded variant of OnePlus 3 called the OnePlus 3T, and is already in sale in the U.S and Canada for $439. However, the availability details for India was not revealed. Now, OnePlus has confirmed the OnePlus 3T will launch in the country soon.

Vikas Agarwal, General Manager, OnePlus India, said in a post on the OnePlus forum, "Getting the OnePlus 3T to India has been a top priority for us, and we are delighted to announce that we are all set to release the OnePlus 3T in India shortly!"

While OnePlus has confirmed that OnePlus 3 will launch in the country soon, it hasn't revealed the actual launch date or price. However, it is conducting 'Truth or Dare' contest on its official Facebook page at the end of which the launch date of OnePlus 3 will be revealed.

The contest is a poll that asks users ""how would you like the date of the #OnePlus3T launch in India revealed?" The options are: Truth: No-holds barred AMA session with Vikas | Dare: Challenge Vikas to a bungee jump.

To refresh, the OnePlus 3T features a more powerful Snapdragon 821 processor and a bigger 3400mAh battery, instead of Snapdragon 820 chip and 3000mAh battery found on OnePlus 3. It also has 16MP camera (vs. 8MP on OnePlus 3) with new 3P89SP sensor, a new 128GB storage option and a new Gunmetal color which replaces Soft Gold. Other specs are same including 5.5-inch Full HD display, 64GB storage option, 6GB RAM, 16MP rear camera, 4G LTE, fingerprint scanner and USB Type-C. It runs Android Marshmallow, but OnePlus has promised Nougat update, scheduled for roll out in December.
