Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon with Kaby Lake coming at CES 2017

Lenovo launched the sturdy and light-weight ThinkPad X1 Carbon business class laptop back in January at CES 2016. Now with the 2017 edition of CES just around the corner details of the refreshed model have surfaced via leaked documents.

Similar to the ThinkPad X1 Carbon 2016, the new upgraded model will sport sturdy build, professional design and 14-inch display. But it will be six percent lighter and eight percent smaller than its predecessor — with a thickness of 0.63-inches and weigh 2.51 pounds (1.14kg).

As far as hardware as concerned, the new ThinkPad X1 Carbon will be equipped with 7th gen Intel Core i-series Kaby Lake processors. The 14-inch screen will have very slim bezels and will be available in Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) or QHD (2560 x 1440 pixels) display options. The Full HD version will be available with an optional touch-screen display version.

Other features include optional IR camera for Windows Hello, 2 x Thunderbolt 3/USB Type-C ports and integrated LTE-A modem. According to the documents the laptop will reportedly offer up to 15.5 hours of battery life, although an external battery slice will be required to get that much run time.

The ThinkPad X1 Carbon is expected to be unveiled at CES 2017, Las Vegas next year in January.
