Samsung Galaxy A (2016) series will get Android Nougat

Samsung is yet to roll out Nougat update to its flagship Galaxy S series and Galaxy Note series phones. However, it is already being tested on Galaxy S7/S7 edge, while for the Galaxy S6/S6 edge, Galaxy Note 5 smartphones, and Galaxy Tab S2, the Nougat firmware is in development.

Now According to SamMobile, the South Korean tech giant has confirmed Nougat update to the 2016 Galaxy A line up smartphones including Galaxy A3, A5, A7, A8, A9 and A9 Pro. There is no information on the Nougat roll out time-frame, but it could happen in Q2, 2017.

For those unaware, the Galaxy A line up sports a premium design with metal and glass finish just like the Galaxy S series flagship (Galaxy S6/S7). However, they are aimed at the higher mid-range segment.

Samsung is also reportedly working on 2017 edition of Galaxy A lineup, that includes the Galaxy A3, A5 and Galaxy A7. The official launch is expected anytime soon.
