Panasonic launches 10.1-inch Toughpad FZ-A2 rugged Android tablet in the U.S


Apart from mid-range smartphones, Panasonic is also known for their Toughpad rugger tablet, aimed at enterprises. The company launched the FZ-A2 in Europe last year, and is now bringing the tablet to the U.S.

The Panasonic FZ-A2 is now available in the U.S  starting at $2189 (Rs. 1,49,000) in the U.S for the Wi-Fi model.

The tablet sports a MIL-STD-810G certified rugged body and can withstand drops of up to five feet. It is also IP65 rated for water and dust resistance, and weighs under two pounds.

Coming to the specs, Pansonic FZ-A2 tablet runs Android Marshmallow and comes with Android for Work's enterprise security built-in. It has 10.1-inch WUXGA 800 nit daylight readable touch display, Intel Atom x5-Z8550 processor, 4GB RAm and 32GB storage.

The tablet gets 8MP rear camera and 2MP front camera, and for connectivity includes USB-A 3.0 port, USB-C 3.1 port, HDMI out, 4G LTE (optional), WiFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.2 LE, GPS, headset jack and microSD card slot. The 2720mAh battery inside promises nine hours of usage.

It comes with three configurations which adds optional features like integrated barcode reader for warehouse and distribution apps, a Smart Card Reader for enhanced security and an additional USB port for connecting peripherals. 

The tablet also comes with optional accessories like like desktop cradle, vehicle mount, active stylus pen and rotating hand strap.
