Xiaomi Redmi Pro 2 possible specs leaked, single camera and bigger battery

The Redmi Pro was Xiaomi's first smartphone to boast dual-camera setup and OLED display, and also the first Redmi series smartphone to come with high-end specs. Now if a new rumor is to be believed, the popular Chinese smartphone maker is working on its successor. Details of the smartphone have surfaced revealing key specs, design and the pricing thanks to a leaked slide.

If the image is legit, the Redmi Pro 2 will have a single camera setup at the back, along with the fingerprint scanner. By comparison the Redmi Pro had a dual-camera setup at the back, and the fingerprint sensor will be on the front embedded into the home button. However, it will have the same brushed metal finish at the back.

Coming to the specs, the Redmi Pro 2 is rumoored to come with 12MP Sony IMX362 rear camera with Dual Pixel auto-focus. This one comes with 1/2.55" sensor with large 1.4um pixels, and on paper should be better than the 1um pixel found on Mi Note and Mi Mix.

The Redmi Pro 2 will also get a more beefy 4500mAh battery, than Redmi Pro's 4050mAh battery. It will be offered in two variants ㅡ 4GB RAM/64GB storage, priced at CNY 1599 ($232 | Rs. 15,700) and 6GB RAM/64GB storage model costing CNY 1799 ($261 | Rs. 17,700).

Unfortunately, the launch date is not known. As always, there is no way to confirm the authenticity of the leaked details, so take the rumor with a pinch of salt.
