Xiaomi to launch Redmi Note 4 in India on January 19

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 has finally got a launch date for India. The Chinese smartphone maker has sent out invites for an event taking place on January 19. The invite does not mention the device name, but it is confirmed to be the Redmi Note 4.

For those unaware, Xiaomi unveiled the Redmi Note 4 in China in August last year. The phone uses MediaTek's Helio X20 processor, but since the company is barred from selling MediaTek power devices in the country, the Redmi Note 4 will utilize Qualcomm's Snapdragon chip, most likely in the SD6XX series.

Flaunting a premium metal unibody design, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 will feature 5.5-inch Full HD display, 2GBRAM/3GB/4GB RAM, 16GB/32GB/64GB storage, 13MP rear camera, 5MP front camera, 4G VoLTE, fingerprint scanner, Android Marshmallow and 4100mAh battery.

In China, the Redmi Note 4 sells for an equivalent of Rs. 9,000 (base variant), so the Indian pricing could be around that.

The Redmi Note 3 was one of the popular and best-selling smartphone in India in 2016. It will be interesting to see if Redmi Note 4 can achieve the same feat.

Xiaomi will offer live stream for the event at c.mi.com.
