Vernee Apollo 2 with MediaTek Helio X30, 8GB RAM will debut at MWC 2017

Last year, Vernee, a new comer, marked its debut into the smartphone market with the Apollo. The phone offered top-end specs like QHD display, 6GB RAM, 128GB storage at a budget, and managed to grab everyone's attention. This year the company has similar plans too.

Vernee will be launching another top-end smartphone at MWC, 2017 later this year. The new phone is the successor of Apollo, called the Apollo 2, and will come with an over kill 8GB of RAM. But, Vernee's Apollo 2 will not be the first smartphone to pack that much RAM. Earlier this year at CES, Asus unveiled the Tango enabled-ZenFone AR with 8GB RAM.

However, the Vernee Apollo 2 is said to be the first smartphone to use MediaTek's Helio X30 processor. For those unaware, Helio X30 is a deca-core processor (2 x Cortex-A73 cores @ 2.8GHz | 4 x Cortex-A53 cores @ 2.2GHz | 4 x Cortex-A53 cores @ 2.0GHz), built using 10nm manufacturing processor, and packs IMG 7XTP-Mt4 GPU clocked at 820MHz.

Vernee has also confirmed that it will offer Apollo 2 in two configurations 4GB RAM/64GB and 6GB RAM/128GB storage. There's no word on other specs, but Apollo 2 will most likely come with QHD display, fingerprint scanner, USB Type-C port and Google's latest mobile operating system, Android Nougat.

We should know more details later this month.
