Micromax to pre-load McAfee Mobile Assistant on their devices

Micromax smartphones and tablet launching from next month (April 2017), will come pre-installed with McAfee Mobile Assistant for protection against threats. For the integration of the software Micromax has teamed up with Intel Security.

The McAfee Mobile Assistant is said to be an "all-in-one security and optimisation app that offers protection from risky apps, malware, and potentially unwanted programs."

Apart from Micromax devices, the company's sub-brand YU will also pre-load the security software on its devices as well. The services of the software will be free, but to get additional features user will have to pay and get the upgrade. The mobile security app will also be released to select existing Micromax smartphones via an OTA update.

Multiple reports in the past have suggested that Android devices are vulnerable to malicious attacks. According to McAfee Labs Threat Predictions Report, mobile malware will continue to grow and target vulnerable consumers. As more users use their devices for online banking and managing connected devices, hackers are rapidly evolving their techniques to exploit unsuspecting users to gain access to their information.

Micromax says by making McAfee Mobile Assistant available on their devices, consumers will be able to enjoy a safe online experience in the digitally connected world.
