OnePlus 3T gets a new Midnight Black paint job

A few days back, OnePlus unveiled a special all-black colette edition of the OnePlus 3T. The release was limited to 250 units for Colette store in Paris. However, OnePlus received several requests for a wider-release and due to the overwhelming response, today, OnePlus has released the all-black OnePlus 3T world-wide.

Called the OnePlus 3T Midnight Back, it ditches the Colette logo on the back, but otherwise is the same OnePlus 3T in an all-black color.

OnePlus will sell it in limited quantities making another 250 units available through Hypebeast website via flash sale on March 24 at 4pm GMT. At a later date, it will be available in Europe and North America.

The OnePlus 3T Midnight Black will go on sale in India on March 31 at 4pm, and will be available till stocks last on Amazon India and OnePlus online store. It will also be sold through OnePlus Experience Store in Bangalore soon.

The OnePlus 3T Midnight Black will pack 6GB RAM, and available with only 128GB storage. It is priced at USD 479 / EUR 479 / GBP 439 / INR  34,999.

OnePlus in a fourm post said that it was working on an all-black OnePlus smartphone for 'close to a year now', and during the period, the company experimented with over 30 variations on the theme, but was not able to get the premium deep black coat it was aiming to deliver, before settling for the new Midnight Black color it just announced.

"This limited edition of the OnePlus 3T is hewed out of the same space-grade aluminium that lent the original OnePlus 3 and 3T devices their class and durability. A dark coating of just 14 microns in thickness is meticulously applied to the surface of the phone, imbuing the device with a stunning black colour built to last, while retaining the look and feel of naked metal,. To finish each device, an anti-fingerprint layer is applied to keep your device looking as new as the day you bought it." OnePlus said regrading the new all-black OnePlus 3T color.

In related news, OnePlus recently pushed Android 7.1.1 Nougat update for the OnePlus 3 and 3T, making it the first non-pixel devices to get the 7.1.1.
