Reliance Jio extends Prime membership deadline to April 15, launches 'Summer Surprise' offer

Today was the last day to enroll for Reliance Jio's Prime Membership. Signing up for Prime Membership allows users to continue the current free services by paying a one-time enrollment fee of Rs. 99, and paying Rs. 303 per month until March 31, 2018. However now the deadline to opt for the Prime Membership has been extended.

Reliance Jio Infocomm today announced that the company is extending the deadline for Jio Prime membership until April 15. So those who have not opted for the Prime Membership, so far can do it on or before April 15. Additionally Jio also came up with a new "Jio Summer Surprise" offer as well.

Under Jio Summer Surprise offer, Jio Prime members who make their first recharge before April 15 using Jio's Rs. 303 or any higher value plan will get complimentary services for three months. The paid tariff plan will be applied only in July after the expiry of complimentary service.

For instance, after enrolling for the Jio Prime membership, you have to make a recharge of Rs. 303 before April 15, and you will be entitled to enjoy benefits of the Happy New Year offer (1GB data per day, unlimited calls & SMS and access to Jio suite of apps) for three more months. After that (starting July) you will have to do the usual monthly recharges.

Jio also said that users who do not recharge by the extended date of April 15 will experience degradation and/or discontinuation of service. If you’re already a member of Prime and bought a recharge, you will still be eligible for Jio Summer Surprise offer.

Lastly, the teleco claims that in just one month, over 72 million (and counting), of its customers have signed up for Jio Prime membership. It also said that the migration is the largest from a free to paid services in history in such a short period of time.
