Apple's new 9.7-inch iPad goes up for pre-orders in India via Flipkart

Last month Apple replaced the two-year old iPad Air 2 with the new 9.7-inch iPad. Now the tablet is available for pre-order in India from Flipkart. 

As of now only the 32GB WiFi only model and 128GB WiFi + Cellular model is up for pre-order at Rs. 28,900 and Rs. 47,900 respectively. 

The other models are 128GB WiFi only model priced at Rs. 36,900, and 32GB WiFi + Cellular model for Rs. 39,900. However it is not known when it will be available for purchase.

As mentioned earlier, the new 9.7-inch iPad replaces the old iPad Air 2, and comes with a few upgrades. It features a brighter  2048 x 1536 pixels and is powered by an 64-bit A9 processor, which is san upgrade over the A8X chip found inside the iPad Air 2.

Other specifications include 8MP rear camera, 1.2MP front camera, up to 10 hours of battery life and Touch ID fingerprint sensor. It runs iOS 10 and comes with Picture-in-Picture, Slide Over and Split Screen mode. 

The new 9.7-inch iPad comes in Silver, Gold and Space Grey hue and will ship from April 14.
