OnePlus 5 with model number A5000 spotted on Chinese regulation site

After the success of OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T, OnePlus is readying its 2017 flagship killer. However, the company will reportedly skip the number 4 moniker on its next flagship phone, and call it OnePlus 5. OnePlus is skipping the number 4 moniker because it is considered unlucky and ominous in Chinese culture and bring bad luck.

That said, the first evidence that OnePlus is working on OnePlus 5 has hit the interwebs. A OnePlus handset carrying model number A5000 was spotted on China's Radio Regulation Authority. This smartphone is most likely to be the OnePlus 5, given the fact that the company’s previous smartphones OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T had model numbers A3000 and A3010 respectively.

There is no doubt that OnePlus 5 will be one of the most highly anticipated flagship device of the year. It is expected to be unveiled in second half of 2017, and lately there have been a plenty of leaks about the phone.

According to rumors, the OnePlus 5 will feature 5.5-inch QHD display, Snapdragon 835 processor, 8GB RAM, up to 256GB storage, 23MP/16MP cameras, Android Nougat fingerprint scanner. There are some rumors claiming that OnePlus 5 will feature dual-edged screen and dual cameras, while others say it will sport Xiaomi's Mi Mix like design.

At this point the rumored specs are based on speculations, so it is advised to take them with a pinch of salt.
