Meizu M5 gets Rs. 1,000 price cut, now available for Rs. 9,499

Two days back Meizu launched the mid-range M5 smartphone in India for Rs. 10,499. It was the the brand's first 2017 offering for India and the first device in six months since the launch of Meizu m3S.

Now just two days after the launch, Meizu has announced Rs. 1,000 price cut on the M5. It is now available for Rs. 9,499 exclusively through TataCliq online store.

To recap the specs, the Meizu M5 features 5.2-inch HD display, MediaTek MT6750 processor, 3GB RAM, 32GB storage, 13MP/5MP cameras, fingerprint scanner, 3070mAh battery and Android Marshmallow.

Meizu says the price cut comes as an "endeavor to further uplift the excitement of Meizu fans to own our products through further incentivizing them."

But it appears that Meizu is facing heat from Xiaomi, who launched the Redmi 4 starting at Rs. 6,999 yesterday, but the variant with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage costs Rs. 8,999, which is still Rs. 500 less than Meizu M5.
