Samsung Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8+ global sales reportedly exceed 5 million

Samsung introduced the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ with bezel-less display in March at an event in New York, and the flagship went on sale globally towards the end of April (April 21) including India. Now it looks like both devices are doing very well globally.

According to The Investor, Samsung has sold more than five million units of Galaxy S8 and S8+ in less than a month of its global release. This is no surprise, as both the devices had pre-orders exceeding one million units in home market South Korea . Even in India and the U.S the reaction to pre-order period saw strong response.

“Although we cannot provide detailed figures, the sales are going smoothly around the globe. The combined sales already are beyond 5 million units,” a Samsung official told the publication.

The exact sales figures is not known for now, but we can expect Samsung to share it officially soon. Earlier analyst had predicted that Galaxy S8+ with 6.2-inch display to be more popular than its younger sibling Galaxy S8. They also predicted Samsung to sell 27.19 million units of Galaxy S8+, while the total expected sale of both Galaxy S8/S8+ to reach between 50 and 60 million units this year.

Samsung is also said to bring the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ to reach 120 countries by the end of this month, including China. There is no doubt expanding the release to more countries will boost the sales of the flagship further.
