Facebook's Messenger Lite app now available in India
Facebook's Messenger Lite app is designed to work in areas where internet/mobile data connections are very slow and to consume less data.
It was introduced back in October last year, and initially was made available in emerging markets including Kenya, Tunisia, Malaysia, Sri Lanka and Venezuela. The app expanded to 132 more countries in April, and now finally it has released in India as well.
The lightweight, fast and simple version of Messenger is available for download from the Google Play Store for Android devices. Its size is under 10MB, so it's fast to and install and quick to start. The app will be very useful to FB users who use old Android phones, and don't have lot of memory, storage, has limited processing power or support 2G & 3G networks only.
Although it is a lite version, it gets all the Messenger's core experience including messaging, emojis, sending and receiving photos and links, and receiving stickers.
