Image and specs of Jio Lyf 4G VoLTE feature phone surface


Reliance Jio is expected to launch a range of affordable VoLTE enabled feature phone in India soon. Now ahead of the release, live images of the handset has surfaced along with its complete specs sheet. The final name of the handset is not known, but it is said to launch under the LYF brand.

According to the source, Jio's feature phone will run KAI OS, a forked version of HTML5-based Firefox OS, and has a dedicated app store called KaiOS Plus with Facebook and Jio apps listed there. Surprisingly, the phone will be integrated with a voice assistant with support for regional languages, that will be able to answer questions like current weather, solve mathematical equations and more.

Design-wise LYF's feature phone will have the typical candy bar design, and come with a dual-language keypad, a dedicated torchlight button and textured back. 


The specs include 2.4-inch color display, 2MP main camera, VGA front camera, 512MB RAM, 4GB internal storage Bluetooth 4.1, WiFi w/ VoWiFi, USB tethering support, GPS and 2000mAh battery. Unfortunately WiFi hotspot will not be supported. The report doesn't mention the processor in use, but it is most likely to be equipped with either Snapdragon 205 or Spredtrum processor. 

It will also have three slot design with dedicated slots for dual-SIMs and microSD card slot. Apart from offering VoLTE calls, the handset will also run Jio's apps like Jio TV and Jio Cinema.

Jio's LYF branded 4G VoLTE feature phones is expected to be priced between Rs. 500 and Rs. 2,499, but the one pictured in the image will be priced Rs. 1,499. An official announcement is expected soon.
