Lenovo will uncage the K8 Note on August 9

Lenovo is finally all set to launch its first smartphone of 2017. Till now, the company has been focusing on Motorola brand, and is done launching most of the Moto devices (except three: Moto G5S & G5S Plus, Moto X4).

The company has scheduled an announcement for August 9 to unveil a new smartphone of its popular K Note line.

The upcoming K Note series device will be succeeding the K6 Note, but will skip, K7 Note name, and instead will be called K8 Note. The reason for using the 8 moniker is not known, but hints at a possible dual-camera setup.

Lenovo also touts that its upcoming smartphone will kill the ordinary smartphone, and stand way ahead of its competition, although, that appears to be a marketing hype.

The K8 Note recently appeared on Geekbench listing revealing some of its specs. It is expected to feature deca-core MediaTek Helio X20 processor, 4GB RAM and run Android 7.1.1 Nougat. Unfortunately other specs are unknown, but it will most likely have Full HD display and fingerprint scanner.

Lenovo's upcoming K8 Note will be competing with the popular Redmi Note 4, Mi Max 2, Honor 8 Lite and Moto G5 Plus.
