Moto E4 now available in India for Rs. 8,999, Moto E4 Plus coming soon


Motorola last month introduced its latest Moto E series smartphones, the Moto E4 & E4 Plus. And now the company has silently released the Moto E4 in India. According to Mumbai-based retailer Mahesh Telecom, the Moto E4 Plus is now available in the country through offline channels for Rs. 8,999. 

The Moto E4 is Motorola's fourth smartphone offering in two months. It previously launched the offline exclusive Moto C, and Moto C Plus entry-level smartphones,  and the higher mid-range, Moto Z2 Play. The Moto C line replaced Moto E to become the brand's affordable offering, while the Moto E line will be the second affordable offering, and bring premium features.

The Moto E4 line gets a major upgrade for its predecessors, now sporting a metal body, fingerprint scanner, that is almost similar to the Moto G5 line. They also get Water-repellent nano-coating to withstand light splashes, and run the latest Android 7.1.1.

In terms of specification, the Moto E4 features 5-inch HD 2.5D curved glass display, and is powered by 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6737 processor. The chip is paired with Mali T720 GPU and 2GB RAM, and the storage on-board is 16GB, and it can be expanded further via microSD card.

The camera department includes 5MP f/2.2 sensor at the back and 5MP selfie camera, both accompanied by LED flash. Connectivity options include dual-SIM slots, 4G LTE, VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1 LE and GPS. A 2800mAh battery completes the specs sheet.

Motorola is also teasing the launch of Moto E4 Plus, so it should be out soon as well. The specs include 5.5-inch HD display, quad-core MediaTek MT6737 processor, 3GB RAM, 13MP/5MP cameras, and a beefy 5000mAh battery. It was announced in two storage variants: 16GB & 32GB, and it is not if both or any one will be released in the country. The rest of the specs are same as Moto E4.
