Samsung rolls out maintenance update for Galaxy A3 (2016) to fix charging bug

Samsung rolled out Android Nougat to Galaxy A3 (2016) in June this year, and later users reported issues while charging the device. The South Korean tech giant said that it will soon send an update to fix the issue.

Now Samsung is rolling out a maintenance update for the Galaxy A3 (2016) in Europe, which fixes the issue. To remind you, a bug was preventing Galaxy A3 (2016) from charging beyond 87 percent, and with the latest update it has been fixed. 

However, it is still not known what caused this issue, but according to reports the problem was caused due to a faulty line of code in the recent update, the device received that was designed to patch BlueBorne security vulnerability.

The update also patches a bug for the “IMS Service Stopped” error on Galaxy A3 (2016) and Galaxy A5 (2016) in Netherlands.

The update for Galaxy A3 (2016) and Galaxy A5 (2016) has the build numbers A310FXXU3CQI8 and A510FXXU4CQI9, respectively. You can check for the update manually going to Settings > Software Update, and if available tap on the Download Updates button. Or else wait for the update notification alert, when the OTA update is available.
