Xiaomi Mi Max with 6.44-inch display, 4850mAh battery gets official
Xiaomi has officially announced the Mi Max phablet at its event in China. The Mi Max is Xiaomi's first smartphone to run MIUI 8, which is based on Android Marshmallow. The phablet sports a full metal unibody design and is just 7.5mm thick, and has a fingerprint scanner at the back.
The Xiaomi Mi Max features 6.44-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) IPS 2.5D curved glass display. It is equipped with Snapdragon 650 SoC/Snapdragon 652 SoC w/ Adreno 510 GPU, 3GB RAM/4GB RAM, 32GB/64GB/128GB storage depending on the variant. It comes with hybrid SIM slot that lets you use the second slot as a microSD expansion slot when required.
The camera department gets 16-megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, PDAF, f/2.0 aperture, and for clicking selfies and video calling, you get 5-megapixel front camera. Connectivity duties are handled by 4G LTE w/ VoLTE, WiFi 802.11ac MIMO, Bluetooth 4.2, infrared sensor and GPS+GLONASS. It is backed by a massive 4850mAh battery.
The Xiaomi Mi Max comes in three variants —
Snapdragon 650 SoC + 3GB RAM + 32GB storage variant priced at CNY 1499 ($230 | Rs. 15,500)
Snapdragon 652 SoC + 3GB RAM + 64GB storage variant priced at CNY 1699 ($260 | Rs. 17,375)
Snapdragon 652 SoC + 4GB RAM + 128GB storage variant priced at CNY 1999 ($306 | Rs. 20,445)
The Xiaomi Mi Max will be available for order starting today in China and will go on sale from May 17. It comes in Gold, Silver and Light Grey colors.
