Microsoft launches the 4G-enabled Lumia 638 in India

Microsoft  launched its affordable 4G smartphone in India - Nokia Lumia 638. The handset made its debut in China earlier this year in June.

The Nokia Lumia 638 will be the first handset to be available exclusively on the newly-launched Microsoft Brand Store on Amazon India priced at Rs. 8,299 ($130) and will go up for pre-orders from Wednesday.

Microsoft will offer Lumia 638 consumers on Airtel post-paid in Bengaluru up to 5GB of free data on 4G for 2 months post activation of their sim. The offer will be available until 31 March 2015. 

The phone comes with onscreen soft keys for back, search and Home instead of hardware, capacitive keys.

The Lumia 638 comes pre-loaded with several apps, including WhatsApp, WeChat, Instagram, HERE Maps, HERE Drive+, MixRadio, Microsoft Office, OneDrive and more.
