Xiaomi Launch Its New Flagship Smartphone, The 'Mi Note' In China

Xiaomi launched its new flagship Mi Note at an event in Beijing, China today. Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun claimed that the new Mi Note is the "best looking phone in the company's history". The Mi Note should not be confused with Redmi Note, as it is entirely a new product and not a budget device.

The Xiaomi Mi Note features a 5.7-inch sharp JDI display with 386ppi and protected by Gorilla Class 3.The smartphone features 2.5D curved glass in the front, and 3D curved glass at the back for protection.  The Phablet is just 7.1mm thin and weighs 161 grams.

It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 with 2.5GHz quad-core CPU and Adreno 330 GPU, paired with 3GB RAM. The handset comes in two storage variants 16GB/64GB. The handset will run Android 4.4 KitKat OS out of the box with MIUI UI on top of it.

Camera features include 13-megapixel rear camera with a Sony IMX214 CMOS sensor, f/2.0 aperture, Optical Image Stabilisation and a Philips 2-tone flash. In the front there is a 4-megapixel camera with 2-micron pixels. The device comes equipped with a Hi-Fi audio system, with support for multiple lossless formats and also  also supports dual 4G SIM cards. It is backed by 3000mAh battery with Quick Charge 2.0.

The Mi Note is priced at 2,299 Yuan (Rs 23,000 ; $370) for the 16GB variant, and 2,799 Yuan (Rs 28,000 ; $450) for the 64GB model and will go on sale from January 27. The handset will be available in Black and White Colour and will be available later this month in China.
