Nokia 1100 with Android 5.0 Lollipop, quad-core CPU surface online
This is not a joke. Nokia's legendary phone 1100 with said model number was spotted on Geekbench benchmark site.
According to the benchmark site listing, Nokia 1100 packs a 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6582 quad-core CPU, 512MB RAM and runs Android 5.0 Lollipop suggesting that it could be a entry-level device. No other details were revealed.
Under the terms of Microsoft, Nokia can no longer use its brand on smartphones till Q4 2016, the spotted 1100 is unlikely to debut before that. Last year Nokia partnered with Foxconn and launched the "first Nokia branded Android tablet" called N1. It is possible that Nokia might license the device under third party OEM.
For those who don't know Nokia 1100, it is an entry level handset that was launched in 2003. It has a monochrome display with voice calling and text messaging functions, the highly popular Snake game and the famous Nokia tune. Nokia claimed that the 1100 handset was "the world's most popular phone"
