HP EliteBook Folio 1020 and Elite x2 1011 G1 Hybrid launched in India


HP, alongside announcing a slew of tablets for the Indian market, also announced its latest ultra-thin notebooks - EliteBook Folio 1020 and EliteBook Folio 1020 SE (special Edition) and 2-in-1 laptop/tablet hybrid - Elite x2 1011 G1 meant for enterprise customers in India.

The EliteBook Folio 1020 is claimed to be the industry's slimmest and lightest business-class notebooks. It is quite slim at 15.7mm and weighs just 1.2Kg because it is constructed from a blend of magnesium-lithium alloy and carbon fibre. The Special Edition variant is 20 grams lighter than the standard model at 1Kg.

The HP Folio EliteBook 1020 sports a 12.5-inch full-HD display whereas the special edition variant come with 12.5-inch QHD display along with HD webcam, front facing speakers featuring HD Audio and DTS studio sound.

Both notebooks are powered by Intel Core M processor (Core M-5Y51 or Core M-5Y71) and is a fanless machine. It packs 8GB RAM and comes in two SSD hard drive storage options - 128GB or 256GB. The battery life on the notebooks are rated to deliver up to 9 hours of usage time.


The HP Elite x2 1011 G1 runs Windows 8 Pro and offers military-grade durability. It comes with a range of optional accessories that includes WiGiG dock, a cover, a power keyboard and Wacom Pen. 

The HP Elite x2 1011 G1 sports 11.6-inch display and is available in either 1366x768 pixels or 1920x1080 pixels screen resolutions. It is powerd by Intel Core M (available in Core M-5Y71, Core M-5Y51, Core M-5Y10c options).

It is available with 4GB or 8GB RAM. The laptop/tablet hybrid comes in either 128GB to 512GB M.2 SSD or 180GB to 256GB M.2 SE SSD. It also has microSD card slot, micor-SIM slot and a smart card reader slot. Other features include 5-megapixel rear camera, 2-megapixel front facing camera and two-cell 33 watt-hour-Li-ion polymer batter. The keyboard has a six-cell 21 watt-hour-Li-ion polymer battery.

The EliteBook Folio 1020 and EliteBook Folio 1020 Special Edition are now available for purchase in India at a starting price of Rs 95,000. The HP Elite x2 1011 G1 will ship later this month at a starting price of Rs. 85,000.
