YU’s Project Caesar smartphone will be called YU YUPHORIA


Yu announced that its upcoming Project Ceasar smartphone will be called YUPHORIA. The name was chosen through India's first ever crowd-sourcing smarphone naming campaign #YUNameit that started on  March 31.

Participants had to submit their entries till April 3 and the voting begin from 4th to 6th April. A total of 1,00,000 entries were submitted out of which five (YUPHORIA, YUKNIGHT, YUNICORN, YUNITY, YOUTH) were chosen for the voting stage. And the consumers voted in favor of YUPHORIA, making it the identity for Project Ceasar.

The five randomly selected lucky winners from the entries for name YUPHORIA will win the new YU device. In addition Participants have also won Amazon Gift cards worth Rs. 1 Lakh throughout the campaign.

For now, not much is known about the YUPHORIA smartphone. But YU on its social platform has teased some of the features of the smartphone that include 64-bit processor, 16GB internal storage, 2GB RAM and Android Lollipop based Cyanogen Mod 12OS. The devices is expected to be priced under Rs. 10,000.

YU already confirmed thah Project Ceasar aka YUPHORIA will be launched some in Q2 2015.
