Microsoft Office 2016 Public Preview now available for download
Microsoft has released the public preview of Office 2016 for Windows users and is now available for download. The new version includes several new features for home and business users.
Office 2016 brings smart tools for individuals, teams and businesses. Users can create, open, edit amd save files in the cloud from your desktop, so they can access them anywhere on any device. In addition, the Outlook comes with a new modern attachment that automatically uploads the attachment to the cloud instead of being attached to the email so that users can send larger files easily. Other new features are-
For IT, Office 2016 comes with new features that include new compliance and security controls like Data Loss Protection (DLP), Outlook Multi-factor authentication, IRM (Information rights management) enabling online and offline protection of files. It also includes Better network traffic management, Enhanced distribution management, manage update and device activation across users.
- Collaboration – Real-time co-authoring is available in the Office Online apps, starting with Word. When you and your team are working in Word 2016 and/or Office online, you’ll be able to see where other editors are working and what they are writing—all in real-time.
- Smart Applications – Applications will learn as you work, taking advantage of subtle cues and clues to help you stay on task and get more out of Office.
- Clutter – a new exchange feature in Outlook—uses machine learning to analyze your email patterns and de-clutter your inbox by moving lower priority messages out of your way and into a new Clutter folder. And Insights, powered by Bing, finds you contextual information from the web within the reading experience.
- New Data analysis capabilities are built in to Excel so you can pull, map, analyze and visualize your data faster. These include One-Click forcasting, Data connecting and shaping capabilities, Easy data modeling and powerful analysis, new modern charts and graphs to present your data in fresh ways and publishing.
The Office 2016 preview is available for download for Office 365 subscribers, non-subscribers, home and enterprise users from the Office 2016 Preview website. It is still work in progress and Microsoft has promised to add new features every month. The final release of the Office 2016 is scheduled for Fall 2015.
