Android Lollipop hits 10% of all Android devices
Google has released the Android distribution stats for the month of April. The numbers are saying that Android's latest 5.0 Lollipop is now present on almost 10 percent of Android devices ( Android 5.0 - 9.7% , Android 5.1 (0.3%). The data was collected during 7-day period ending May 4, 2015.
The latest data reveals that the Lollipop adaptation rate has doubled as compared to last months 5.4 percent. It is worth noting that in February Android Lollipop in February was present on 1.6% percent of devices and in March 3.3%.
Android KitKat is still on top, but is steadily going down. It is present in 39.8 percent of devices as compared to 41.4 percent last month- decrease of 1.6 percent.
Android Jelly Bean also dropped to 39.3% as compared to 40.7 percent last year. Android Ice Cream Sandwich has 5.3 share and Android Gingerbread shares are 5.7%. Lastly Android Froyo is still present on 0.3% of Android devices.
The latest data shows that Lollipop is appearing on more and more Android devices. This numbers could increase in the coming months as Android Lollipop is being rolled out to more devices.
