OnePlus 2 to use USB Type-C port
OnePlus stated on its Google Plus channel, “The OnePlus 2 will be the first flagship smartphone to use the latest Type C USB. We want to lead the way in power connectivity.” The first flasgship smartphone part is not really true since LeTV Le 1, Le Pro and Le Max were the first flagship devices to sport USB Type-C connector.
So what is USB Type-C connector? It is a new tiny reversible connector that eliminates hassles while plugging in smartphone to chargers or computers. With USB Type-C, users will not have to worry which way their cable is facing. It is rated up to 100W, which means it can be used to charge not only smartphones, but PCs and other devices as well.
Last week, OnePlus confirmed that OnePlus 2 will utilise the new version (2.1) of Snapdragon 810 to avoid the heating issues. Snapdragon 810 comes with octa-core CPU with 64-bit computing and features an Adreno 430 GPU, 4K Ultra HD video playback, and 4G LTE support. OnePlus also revealed that the OxygenOS has been optimized to offer smooth user experience with Snapdragon 810.
OnePlus team will be revealing the specs of OnePlus 2 piece by piece ahead of its official unveiling.
