OnePlus 2 will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 v2.1 SoC

OnePlus revealed that its next flasghip smartphone OnePlus 2 will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 v2.1 processor. OnePlus also announced that it will be revealing major specs of OnePlus 2 one by one in the coming weeks.

OnePlus says that Snapdragon 810 is the perfect chipset for OnePlus 2, because it offers high performance (better video, quicker camera and unbelivable gaming experience) and multitasking abilities while maintaining optimal battery performance. The OnePlus One features Snapdragon 801 processor.

We already know that Snapdragon 810 processor has heating issues. OnePlus assures that they have taken necessary precautions to prevent this issue on OnePlus 2. OnePlus is also employing layers of thermal gel and graphite to dissipate heat evenly. The company has worked closely with Qualcomm to integrate the v2.1 of Snapdragon 810 chipset by tuning software and hardware and claims that OnePlus 2 will be "cooler than ever". OnePlus also revealed that the OxygenOS has been optimized to offer smooth user experience with Snapdragon 810.

Snapdragon 810 comes with octa-core CPU with 64-bit computing features support for 4K Ultra HD video streaming, crisp and fast photos with one quick snap, immersive 3D gaming experience with Adreno 430 GPU and  exceptional battery life.

The team behind OnePlus 2 is confident about the phone, and according to them the device packs outstanding specs. But only time will tell whether there will be heating issue or not and whether it will live up to the expectation of the fans.
