WhatsApp brings Voice Calling for Windows Phone

WhatsApp started rolling out its much-anticipated voice calling feature for Android in March, followed by iOS and BlackBerry 10 platforms in April.

Now, WhatsApp's voice calling feature comes to Windows Phone. There is another minor addition as well.

The updated WhatsApp with v2.12.60.0 for Windows Phone brings voice-calling feature. It is available for phones running Windows Phone 8 and above This feature will use the cellular data or WiFi connection for voice calling so data chargers may apply.

Windows Phone store listing by WhatsApp reads “Call your friends and family using WhatsApp for free, even if they’re in another country. WhatsApp calls use your phone’s Internet connection rather than your cellular plan’s voice minutes.”

In addition the newer version also brings new feature like sending audio files, which is currently available for Windows Phone 8.1 users.
