LG Band Play with 1W speaker, 13-megapixel camera launched
LG has introduced a new smartphone in its home market Korea dubbed Band Play. It has a powerful 1-watt speaker that promises clear sound and comes bundled with LG QuadBeat 3 earphone.
It also has a "focus mode" that helps ease your tension and improve concentration by playing relaxing therapy music. The Alarm, data and Wi-Fi are cut off and incoming calls are automatically rejected so you can concentrate on your work.
LG Band Play features 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display and is powered by an 64-bit 1.2GHz Snapdragon 410 processor paired with Adreno 306 GPU and 2GB LPDDR3 RAM. Onboard storage is 16GB, further expandable via microSD card up to 32GB. It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box.
The LG Band Play sports 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, Laser Auto Focus and 5-megapixel front shooter for taking selfies. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, USB 2.0, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and NFC. A 2300mAh battery fuels the phone which is removable. It measures 139.7 x 71.9 x 8.3mm, weighs 126g and comes in either Black or White colors.
LG's Band Play is priced at 394,800 Korean Won (US$356 | Rs. 23,000) and will be available via Korean operator SK Telecom starting June 25. There is no word on global availability for now.
