Misfit's Speedo Shine is a swimming wearable for $80

Wearable company Misfit has partnered with Speedo, a swimwear brand company to launch Speedo Shine activity, swim and sleep tracker. The device is waterproof and is targeted at swimmers. It keeps track of swimmer's lap count at industry-leading accuracy level with special algorithms embedded in the devices firmware.

Speedo Shine is made of durable anodized aircraft-grade aluminum and comes in silver color. Apart from keeping track of laps and swim distance, the device also keeps track of calories burned. It also tracks walking, running, cycling, and light and deep sleep. It is waterproof up to 50 meters and is fueled by a replaceable coin battery cell which promises battery life of up to 6 months. It is 8.6mm thick and weighs 9.4 grams.

Speedo Shine supports Android and iOS devices and syncs via Misfit app over Bluetooth to display laps and swim distance, calories burned and points earned. The device will soon support Speedo Fit, a personalized swim tracking app by Speedo.

Priced at $79.99 (Rs. 5,200), Misfit's Speedo Shine will be available via Apple stores starting September 1, as well as misfit.com and SpeedoUSA.com
