Misfit, a brand known for its fitness tracker, unveiled its first smartwatch, Vapor, at this years CES. Now the watch has been launched in India for Rs. 14,495.
It is available for purchase exclusively on Flipkart and sports a durable 44mm stain-finished stainless steel upper casing that comes in Jet Black and Rose Gold.
The Misfit Vapor runs Android Wear 2.0, and comes pre-loaded with Google Assistant. This will allow you to use the hot word 'Ok Google' to ask weather update, set reminders, navigate to a destination and more.
It has 1.39-inch Circular AMOLED display with touch bezel that allows you to navigate menu or access notifications without touching the screen. The watch's display can show time date, weather, heart rate, fitness data and more.
The smartwatch is powered by Snapdragon wear 2100 and packs built-in GPS, WiFi and microphone. It comes with 4GB storage so that you can store music, which can be played via connected Bluetooth headset.

Fossil owned fitness wearable brand Misfit has introduced a new affordable and simple fitness tracker called the Flare.
Just like Misfit's other fitness trackers, the Flare can automatically track steps taken, distance traveled, calories burned and sleep quality (light and restful sleep). It can also track activities such as running, walking, yoga, swimming, soccer, basketball, tennis and more. All the data collected is fed into the Misfit app available for Android and iOS.
The Flare's tracking module sports an aluminum case with capacitve touch sensor (or smart button) and a single LED light at the centre beneath a crystal face. It also includes a sleek black silicone strap.
Double tapping the smart button will let you check daily progress. The LED light shows activity progress, goal tracking and lap count. One light will indicate 25% of your goal, two will mark 50% and three is 75%.
The smart button can also also customized for different actions such as play music, take selfie, connect to household smart devices and make your phone ring when the Flare is connected to the Misfit Link app on the smartphone.
The fitness tracker is also waterproof for up to 50 meters thanks to 5ATM rating, making it useful for swimmers. Swimmers can use the fitness tracker to count swim laps and track swim distance for 25 and 50 meter pools, and count down a set swim time. (one-time $9.99 updgrade required within misfit app).
It also doesn't require charging as it uses a replaceable coin battery that lasts up to four months.
The Misfit Flare is priced at $59.99 (Rs. 4,000) and is now available from misfit's website.

Misfit last year, teamed up with Speedo and launched the Speedo Shine fitness tracker. Now both companies have teamed up once again to launch the Speedo Shine 2, aimed at swimmers. Much like the Speedo Shine, the Speedo Shine 2 is also an activity, swim and sleep tracker, but borrows some new features from Misfit Shine 2.
The Speedo Shine 2 can accurately track a swimmer's lap count and swim distance. It also allows you to set workout timers and when the countdown is complete, it alerts you with a gentle vibe. The wearable's lap counting algorithms can keep track of lap counts across all stroke types.
It sports a durable aircraft-grade aluminum design and is waterproof for up to 50 meters. The tracker has 12 LEDs which tells the time and is capable of displaying more than 16 million potential colors to depict different notifications. It can also notify you of incoming calls, texts and reminder alerts by vibrating. For advanced activity and sleep tracking packs 3-axis accelerometer and 3-axis magnetometer. It promises six months of battery life on single charge.
All the collected data on the wearable can be synced smartphones/tablets with Misfit app, or to Speedo's swim-tracking app called Speedo Fit. The wearable is compatible with Android (v4.0+) and iOS (v7+) devices and connects to them via Bluetooth.
Priced at $120 (Rs. 8,000), the Speedo Shine 2 will go on sale in the coming weeks. Misfit is also introducing a $10 in-app purchase for the Misfit Ray and Shine 2, which will enable tracking and lap counting features on these devices.
Misfit has launched a new fitness and sleep monitor called Misfit Ray, that has a cylindrical aluminium body and modular design. It measures 12mm in diameter and is 38mm long.
Misfit Ray can be worn either as a bracelet or a necklace. It can track activity and sleep with a 3-axis accelerometer and also packs a vibration motor for vibrating alert. For notification, it uses a multi-color LED indicator to notify about texts and calls. It includes an alarm and users can also take selfies, control music and light with the tracker.
The tracker is capable of monitoring sleep duration and quality, tracking steps taken, distance traveled and calories burned. It is water resistant and can handle submersion in up to 50m deep water, and also comes with a replaceable battery that lasts upto 6 months. It syncs with compatible devices (Android 4.3 Jellybean and up / iOS 7 and up)via Bluetooth 4.0.
The Misfit Ray fitness tracker is priced at
$99.99 (Rs 6,700), for the regular sport band variant, while the
leather variant will cost $119.99 (Rs 8,020). Available in
rose gold and carbon black colors , the tracker can be pre-ordered from Misfit website. The Misfit Ray will be available worldwide
starting Spring 2016.
Watchmaker Fossil Group has announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Misfit Inc., which creates various wearable and sleep trackers in addition to a
health-tracking platform, for $260 million.
Sonny Vu, CEO of Misfit, will serve as president and chief technology officer of connected devices for
Fossil Group, Inc., and will be a member of the company’s executive
leadership team.
Fossil Group expects the acquisition to close before the end of fiscal
2015. The purchase price of $260 million, including transaction costs,
will be funded through a combination of cash on hand and bank debt.
According to Fossil, the acquisition will enable the company to:
- Own a technology platform that has already solved many of the hardest problems in wearables, including battery life.
- Scale Misfit’s technology across Fossil, Skagen and a targeted portion of its portfolio of 16 brands in 2016, ultimately accelerating the company’s connected accessory roadmap.
- Expand its addressable market with new distribution channels, new products, new brands and new enterprise partnerships, including music, fitness, healthcare and digital entities.
- Lead in the connected devices space by harnessing the power of a world-class software and hardware engineering team spearheaded by Misfit Founder, Sonny Vu.
The announcement comes just weeks after Fossil introduced its Q Series of smart wearables. With the acquisition of Misfit, Fossil aims to expand its product
offerings from traditional timepieces to connected wearable devices.
Misift has announced Shine 2, the next generation of Shine Fitness and
Sleep Monitor with improved functions and features. The Shine 2 is
built from 2T6061 T6 aircraft grade aluminum and Glass-reinforced
polycarbonate material making it water resistant up to 50 meters.
Misfit
Shine 2 tracks activity and sleep more accurately than the previous
version with a 3-axis accelerometer and the newly added 3-axis
magnetometer. It can also track
steps, calories, distance traveled and sleep quality, as well as
activities such as swimming, basketball, tennis, soccer, yoga and dance. Users
can get motivated with Misfit Move, a feature that encourages
users to be active with a vibrational nudge. It is backed by a user replaceable coin cell battery that lasts up to six months.
Shine 2 now display notifications with the help of 12 LED's which help to tell time, text and call notification. This is possible as the LEDs are capable of displaying 16 million colors which depict different notifications. It also has improved touch responsiveness, faster syncing, and

Wearable company Misfit has partnered with Speedo, a swimwear brand company to launch Speedo Shine activity, swim and sleep tracker. The device is waterproof and is targeted at swimmers. It keeps track of swimmer's lap count at industry-leading accuracy level with special algorithms embedded in the devices firmware.
