ZUK demos working prototype of transparent display phone

ZUK, Lenovo's online-only brand recently announced its first smartphone named ZUK Z1 in China. The Lenovo-backed startup also showcased a working smartphone prototype with transparent display screen, somewhat similar to the one you may have seen in Marvel's Iron Man movie.

As you can see in the image, the prototype smartphone features a near bezel-less frame on the transparent glass-like display. The prototype device performs all the functions of a traditional smartphone like making calls, displaying galley pictures and play music. It features an Android-like interface.

Lenovo's ZUK is not the only to tease a prototype smartphone with a transparent display, the likes of Samsung and LG have already showcased prototypes on transparent displays in the past.

Smartphone makers are obsessed with curved or edge displays and reducing the bezels on its phones to a bare minimum, but ZUK's prototype device is apparently taking things to a whole new level.
