BlackBerry releases first official photos of Priv

Recently BlackBerry CEO John Chen showed off the Android-powered BlackBerry Priv. Now the company has shared first official photos of the device, though we have already seen it via leaks.

As seen in the image, BlackBerry Priv has a QWERTY keyboard with a slider. The power button sits on the right side with the volume keys. Along with the slide out keyboard, also seen is the loudspeaker grill in the end of the QWERTY keyboard. The micro-USB port and the 3.5mm audio jack is located at the bottom of the device.

"Priv users will enjoy choice, innovation, security, privacy and productivity. In other words, no compromises," BlackBerry said in its blog post, showing off the new photos. According to John Chen, Priv stand for bot 'privacy and privilege' and  it's the company's first product to run Android.

BlackBerry Priv has a all-touchscreen large display that's curved on the sides and sports a 4-row sliding QWERTY keyboard. According to rumors, BlackBerry Priv packs a 5.4-inch Quad HD display with 2560 x 1440 pixels screen resolution, Hexa-core Snapdragon 808 SoC, Adreno 418 GPU, 3GB RAM, 32GB inbuilt storage, microSD card slot, 18-megapixel rear camera with dual-LED flash, OIS, PDAF, 5-megapixel front shooter 4G LTE connectivity and 3650mAh battery.

The BlackBerry Priv is expected to launch on all the four major U.S. carriers, Sprint, T-Mobile, AT&T and Verizon in November.
