Lenovo A1000 with 4-inch display, 3G support announced

At the recently concluded IFA tradeshow in Berlin Lenovo announced handful of interesting phones- Vibe S1 with dual front facing camera, Vibe P1 & P1m with massive battery and Phab & Phab Plus with bigger displays. Now, Lenovo has announced a new entry-level phone, A1000 targeted at emerging markets. The phone is listed on the company's Russia website.

The Lenovo A1000 sports a compact 4-inch WVGA (480 x 800 pixels) display and is equipped 1.3GHz quad-core Spreadtrum SC7731 processor paired with 1GB RAM. On-board storage is 8GB, further expandable via microSD card up to 32GB. For imaging there is 5-megapixel auto-focus rear camera with LED flash and 0.3-megapixel VGA front facing camera. 

The dual-SIM Lenovo A1000 runs Android 5.0 Lollipop and supports 3G HSPA+, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS connectivity. Unfortunately there is no 4G LTE support. It gets power from a 2000mAh battery which offers up to 9 hours of talk time and 12 days standby time. The device has a thickness of 10.6mm, weighs 132g and comes in Pearl White and Black Onyx colors.

Lenovo A1000 is far from being impressive when it comes to specs. Given the hardware configuration, we can assume the phone to be released in emerging markets like India and China and the expected price could be around $60 (Rs. 4,000), though the company did not officially reveal the pricing and availability details.
