Barnes & Noble 'Nook GlowLight Plus' waterproof e-reader announced

Barnes & Noble announced it's first waterproof and dustproof version of the Nook e-reader- the GlowLight Plus. 

In addition, it has the ability to withstand water (3.28 feet is as deep as you're allowed to take it, and 30 minutes is the time duration limit) immersion and being resistant to dust (with an IP67 rating).

It comes with an advanced E Ink display and a built-in ambient light. The e-reader comes with a 6-inch 300 dpi display with built-in glare, scratch and fingerprint resistant lens to provide a paper like reading experience. 

In-built storage is 2.5GB and for wireless connectivity there is WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n. There is also a Micro-USB port at the bottom. It supports text file type including ePub and PDF, and JPG, GIF, PNG, BMP for graphic files. On a single charge, it can run for up to 6 weeks.

The device measures 163.6 x 119.6 x 8.6mm and weighs 195g. It has a textured white border and a bronze colored aluminum back.

The NOOK GlowLight Plus is now available at Barnes & Noble stores and online at NOOK.com for the value of $129.99.

Barnes & Noble will bundle the new NOOK GlowLight Plus with three books (from a selection of 20 great titles), three magazines and a $5 credit to buy e-books from NOOK store.
