HP brings the Star Wars Special Edition notebook to India


Earlier this month, HP in collabaration with Disney and Lucas film introduced the Star Wars Special Edition notebook, in anticipation of the release of Star Wars: “The Force Awakens”. Now HP has launched the Star Wars Special Edition Notebook in India.

The entire body of the  laptop is decked out in the theme, including the touchpad. It has a "battle-worn" distressed design with "Galactic Empire" written in the unique Star Wars Aurebesh font on the hinge and iconic Stormtroopers on the keyboard deck. The touchpad design mirrors the X-Wing Star Fighter Guidance System and the red backlit keyboard completes the dark-side design.

The HP Star Wars Special Edition Notebook features 15.6-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) LED Backlit display. It comes equipped with Sixth Gen Intel Core i5 processor paired with 2GB Nvidia GeForce 940M graphics, 8GB RAM and 1TB HDD. It runs Windows 10 and is rated to deliver up to seven hours of battery life.

Connectivity features include two USB 3.0 port, a USB 2.0 port, VGA port, HDMI port, RJ45 LAN port, while for wireless connectivity there is Bluetooth 4.0 and WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac. There is also a HP TrueVision 720p camera, 3-in-1 card reader (SD/SDHC/SDXC), Super Multi DVD drive, and dual speakers and audio technology from Bang & Olufsen (B&O Play).

It comes loaded with Star wars content. Click the Imperial Cog icon on the desktop to be taken to Star Wars command center for browsing themes and galleries. Users will have access to content collection with over 1,100 images spanning 40 years of Star Wars history including behind the scenes images, storyboards, artwork, classic photos, set and costume design and audio selections. 

The HP Star Wars Special Edition Notebook is priced at Rs. 73,000 and will be available starting November 20.
