LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition is the first Android Wear smartwatch with LTE


In addition to the V10 smartphone, LG also announced Watch Urbane 2nd Edition, its latest Android Wear smartwatch with stainless steel body that has cellular capabilities. It is being touted as the "first Android Wear device to feature cellular connectivity" that can work with or without a smartphone. 

The LG Watch Urbane offers a better 1.38-inch P-OLED display with 480 x 480 screen resolution with pixel density of 348ppi, as compared to 245 ppi display with 320 x 320 resolution on the first Urbane Watch. The company says its sports the "highest resolution display of any smartwatch" currently available in the market. It has a diameter of 44.5mm and has stainless steel body and durable hypoallergenic TPSiV elastomer band.

It is equipped with 1.2GHz Snapdragon 410 processor with 768MB RAM and 4GB on-board storage, and supports LTE, Bluetooth 4.1, WiFi and 3G connectivity. There is also 9-Axis (Gyro/ Accelerometer/ Compass), Barometer, PPG (Heart Rate Sensor) and GPS sensors. It is IP67 rated for dust and water resistance, fueled by 570mAh battery and also has power saving mode to extend the battery life.

It has three buttons on the right to access shortcut settings like contacts, LG health and apps list. Ambient mode can be enabled by pressing the crown button. It also packs 16 preloaded watch faces like heart rate tracking, workout tips and stress level monitoring and more. The smartwatch comes in Space Black, Opal Blue, Luxe White and Signature Brown colors.

LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition will go on sale first in the U.S and Korea, followed by other markets in Asia, Europe, CIS and the Middle East later this year. The price will be revealed closer to the local launch.
