Motorola Moto X Force has an unbreakable screen


Motorola launched the DROID Turbo 2 with Moto ShatterShield, the world's first shatterproof display exclusively for Verizon, a major U.S carrier. Disappointed that it won't be available elsewhere?

Well, Motorola has announced the international variant of the DROID Turbo 2, dubbed as Moto X Force. It will roll out in Latin America, EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa) and APAC (Asia-Pacific) starting in November. In the U.K, it will be priced GBP 499 (Rs. 50,000) for the 32GB Moto X Force variant and GBP 534 (Rs. 53,500) for the 64GB Moto X Force variant. Unfortunately there are no pricing details for other regions.

The Moto X Force is identical in terms of design and specs as the DROID Turbo 2, except for the 4G LTE network support. It has 4G LTE connectivity with support for LTE Bands (B1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 12, 17, 20, 25, 28, 40) including India's 4G LTE bands as well.

The Motorola Moto X Force features a 5.4-inch Quad HD (1440 x 2560 pixels) AMOLED display with Moto Shattersheild Technology which is made of an aluminium rigid core, flexible Amoled screen, and dual-layer touchscreen panels. The display is guaranteed not to crack or shatter for up to 4 years.

Inside there is a 2GHz octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor with Adreno 430 GPU and 3GB LPDDR4 RAM. It runs Android 5.1.1 Lollipop and will be upgraded to Android 6.0 Marshmallow. There is also a microSD card slot present for storage expansion. For imaging, there is a 21-megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED flash and f/2.0 aperture. It can record 4K videos. On the front there is a 5-megapixel shooter with 87-degree wide-angle lens, LED Flash, f/2.0 aperture and 1.4um pixel.

Apart from 4G LTE there is support for 3G, 802.11a/b/g/n/ac 2.4 GHz + 5 GHz with MIMO, Bluetooth 4.1 LE, GPS, GLONASS and NFC connectivity. It is fueled by a 3760mAh battery and supports Turbo charging- In case you run out of juice, a 15 minute recharge offers 13 extra hours with TurboPower charger. In addition, the phone supports PMA and Qi wireless charging technologies.

The device measures 149.8 x 78 x 9.2 mm, weighs 169g, comes in Black Ballistic Nylon color and is eligible for the company's Moto Maker customisation program where applicable.
