Reliance to launch 4G-enabled smartphones under LYF brand
Reliance Retail, part of Reliance industries, announced that it will soon launch its own brand of 4G LTE smartphones under the brand LYF.
The LYF range of smartphones will offer voice-over LTE (VoLTE), voice-over WiFi (voWi-Fi), HD voice clarity and HD video calling. Unfortunately, the company did not reveal the specs, but the image above indicates that the LYF phones will offer sturdy build and metallic frame, runs Android Lollipop and have front facing flash.
The LYF brand is "built on the premise of unmatched user experience will offer high performance handsets that deliver a true 4G experience comparable to the best in the world." said the company.
In addition to Reliance Retail stores, the LYF brand will also be available from retail network including multi-brand stores across the country. As per earlier reports, the upcoming 4G LTE smartphones from Reliance with have a price tag as low as Rs. 4,000.
Reliance Jio Infocomm (subsidiary of Reliance Industries) had already announced that it would provide 4G operations in India by December this year. The company hold a pan-India unified 4G licenses. It will be rolling out 4G services using LTE in 800MHz, 1800MHz and 2300MHz bands through an integrated ecosystem.
