Samsung launches Tizen OS-powered Z3 in India for Rs. 8,490

The first Tizen OS powered smartphone, the Samsung Z1 was launched earlier this year, meant for emerging markets. Now Samsung's latest Tizen offering is called the Z3.

The Samsung Z3 features 5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) Super AMOLED display and is powered by1.3GHz quad-core Spreadtrum SC7730S processor paired with 1GB RAM and 8GB inbuilt storage, further expandable via microSD card up to 128GB. For imaging, it is equipped with 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and 5-megapixel front facing camera. 

It runs Tizen OS 2.4 and supports dual SIM, 3G, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS connectivity. It is fueled by 2600mAh battery. There is also an ultra data saving mode, ultra power saving mode and India-specific themes. The device measures 141.6 x 70 x 7.9mm, weighs 137g and comes in Gold, Black and Silver colors.

The Z3 comes with My Galaxy app which provides offers, deals, discounts, and device care services in four segments - Home, Services, Care, My Page. Home shows offers and deals (with partners such as Pizza Hut, Paytm, Amazon, Bookmyshow, and Coupon Dunia); Services gives access to recharges, food, and travel; Care helps users locate Samsung stores and service centres, apart from accessing services like the Samsung Smart Tutor, and finally, My Page shows saved favourite deals offers, payback points which can be redeemed via Samsung Stores, and more. The My Galaxy app will be available on Tizen Store as well as Google Play. It also comes pre-loaded with Gameloft and Rovio games, and Mix Radio music as well.

The Samsung Z3 is priced at Rs. 8,490 and will go on sale on October 21 via major retail stores across the country. Online, the Z3 will be exclusively available on Snapdeal. It comes bundled with 1GB of free data for two months for Vodafone users.
