OnePlus to unveil a new smartphone on October 29


OnePlus has scheduled an event on October 9, where it will unveil its upcoming smartphone, the OnePlus X/Mini. The events will be held in New Delhi, San Francisco, London, Beijing and Jakarta.

The official teaser image includes image of a letter 'X' lit with a dark background indicating the arrival of OnePlus X. OnePlus is using #PowerfullyBeautiful hashtag for this phone. There is another teaser that shows a creased paper with the wordings 'beauty in making' and is also accompanied with the #PowerfullyBeautiful hashtag.

The OnePlus X was recently spotted on TENAA with images sporting a slightly different design than the OnePlus One and OnePlus 2. The three capacitive buttons are placed below the display and the side bezels were said to sport a metal build.

As per rumors, the OnePlus X has a 5-inch 1080p display with Corning Gorilla Class protection. It also has a ClearForce feature, which functions similarly to Apple's Force Touch used on the latest iPhones. The processor could be the Snapdragon 801 or MediaTek Helio X10. It comes with 2GB LPDDR3 RAM and 32GB inbuilt storage. Camerawise, it is equipped with 13-megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, Sony IMX258 sensor and can record 4K videos. On the front there is 5-megapixel camera. The device will have fingerprint sensor, 4G LTE supports and 2450mAh battery. It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop based Oxygen OS. NFC And IR blaster is also on-board.

The upcoming OnePlus device is expected to be priced $250 (Rs. 16,500).
