Windows 10 Mobile rollout to begin in December


Microsoft has confirmed that Windows 10 Mobile will start rolling out as OTA update to existing Windows Phone devices in December. The information was revealed via Microsoft Lumia's Facebook page, when Microsoft responded to a user's query regarding the Windows 10 Mobile update availability.

“Broad availability of Windows 10 on other devices, including mobile phones, will begin rolling out in December,” posted Microsoft. 8.1.” Unfortunately the company did not reveal the exact date.

In addition Microsoft's support page further says that only handsets running Lumia Denim will get Windows 10 Mobile and not every Lumia phone will support all possible Windows 10 features. Lumia devices with 8GB inbuilt storage or higher will be eligible to receive the Windows 10 Mobile update.

“ambition to make an upgrade available for majority of Lumia smartphones running Windows Phone 8.1" notes the company on its support page.

Microsoft already confirmed that Windows 10 Mobile update will be available for Lumia 430, Lumia 435, Lumia 532, Lumia 535, Lumia 540, Lumia 640, Lumia 640 XL, Lumia 735, Lumia 830 and Lumia 930. This is just the initial list and more devices will be added in the future.
