Huawei G7 Plus with 5.5-inch 1080p display, fingerprint scanner annouced
Huawei has added yet another device to bolster its existing device portfolio in the mid-range price category. Dubbed G7 Plus, it is made up of 90% metal which is aviation grade. It is equipped with a fingerprint sensor 2.0, which is placed at the back of the smartphone below the camera module.
The Huawei G7 Plus features a 5.5-inch Full HD display that is 1080p resolution, with 2.5D Gorilla Glass on top. Inside there is a Octa-Core 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 processor with Adreno 405 GPU and 3GB RAM. On-board storage is 32GB, further expandable via microSD card up to 128GB. It runs Android 5.1.1 Lollipop with EMUI 3.1 on top. Huawei has promised Android 6.0 Marshmallow update roll out by end of February 2016.
It sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with dual-LED flash, f/2.0 aperture, Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), Sapphire Lens and RGBW sensor. On the front there is a 5-megapixel shooter for taking selfies. It comes with one-touch image capture option by placing your finger on the fingerprint scanner while doing any work, the camera app opens instantly and captures the image.
On the connectivity front, the G7 Plus supports 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 LE and GPS. It is fueled by 3000mAh battery which promises 320 minutes of talktime and 300 hours of standby. The device measures 152 x 76.5 x 7.5mm, weighs 167g and comes in Gold, Silver, Grey colors.
The Huawei G7 Plus is priced at $385 which is approximately Rs. 26,000. In Hongkong it costs HK$ 2,980 and in Taiwan, NT$ 12,900 as it is said to be available first in Asia.
