Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 get benchmarked, has Intel inside


Xiaomi devices have been making headline for the past few days, a new variant of the Redmi Note 2, the Redmi Note 2 Pro received TENAA certification, while the company's flagship product, the Mi 5 codenamed 'Gemini' powered by Snapdragon 820 popped up on Geekbench. 

The latest Xiaomi product to hit the news is not a smartphone, but a tablet. The successor of the Mi Pad, the Mi Pad 2 surfaced on Geekbench.

As per the listing the Mi Pad 2 will have Intel inside. The tablet will be powered by an Intexl X5-Z8500 SoC with a quad-core 2.24GHz CPU, 2GBM RAM and will run Android 5.1 Lollipop with MIUI on top. To remind you, the Mi Pad was powered by NVIDIA’s Tegra K1 chipset.

The Mi Pad 2 socred 985 on a single core and 3268 on a multi-core score. The original Xiaomi Mi Pad scored a 1113 on single-core and 3481 on multi-core back in 2014. No other details were specified in the listing.

The Geekbench listing is in line with a report that was outed last year, that revealed that the Mi Pad 2 will be powered by Intel's chipset. Earlier rumors spoke that Mi Pad will have a 7.9-inch display running at a resolution of 2048 × 1536 pixel and 16GB internal storage. There are no details when the Mi Pad 2 unveiling will take place.
