Amazon outs Fire HD 8 Reader’s Edition tablet for $250


Amazon has outed the all-new Fire HD 8 Reader's Edition tablet, which is an 8-inch version of the Fire tablet, aimed especially at readers. Priced at $249.99, the tablet is designed to make reading ebooks easier, especially at night with its Blue Shade feature. It is up for pre-order via Amazon and will be shipped December 9.

The Blue Shade feature adjusts and optimizes the display on the tablet to reduce blue light exposure, for a more comfortable nighttime reading experience. The Blue Shade uses specialized filters to limit exposure to blue light and offers warm color filters and the ability to lower the brightness of the display to an ultra-low level for comfortable night time reading. This feature can be turned on or off on the Blue Shade quick setting with a single tap.

Other reading features include bookerly font, word runner, multi-colored highlights, Whispersync for Voice, Kindle Sharing and Goodreads integration.

Specwise, the Amazon Fire HD 8 Reader's Edition sports an 8-inch HD display and is powered by 1.5GHz quad-core processor. It comes with 8GB internal storage, which can be expanded up to 128GB via microSD card and is equipped with 5-megapixel rear camera and HD front camera. For wireless connectivity there is Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (Dual Band) and Bluetooth with support for A2DP. The tablet runs the latest version of Fire OS, called Bellini , a heavily modified version of Android Lollipop with no Google services or apps aboard

In addition the tablet comes bundled with   year's free subscription to Kindle Unlimited, allowing users to access over one million ebooks, along with thousands of audiobooks, and a limited edition rustic brown leather case.
