Apple to launch iPad 3 in H1 2016 without 3D Touch

KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, whose predictions have in the past been accurate has revealed details of the iPad 3. According to him, Apple will launch the iPad 3 in H1 2016. This means there's a possibility that Apple may unveil new iPad at the rumored March event, with the launch of Apple Watch 2 and 4-inch iPhone 6c expected.

Kuo states that upcoming 9.7-inch tablet will not support 3D Touch technology, the reason being production issues within Apple’s supply chain. “3D Touch [is] one of the most severe production bottlenecks in iPhone 6s supply chain.” he said. The 3D touch technology allows the device to interpret different touches and taps, based on how hard the user presses on the display.

Note that at the September 2015 event Apple didn't refresh its iPad Air lineup instead introduced the iPad Pro, Apple's largest tablet to date.

Talking about the iPhone 7, Kuo stated that the pressure-sensitive 3D touch display will have "similar technology and structure" as the iPhone 6s, which offers users with an improved experience when it comes to apps. As always, the next generation iPhones will be launched in September.

Earlier this month Kuo said that Apple will launch 4-inch iPhone 6c which will have the hardware capability of iPhone 5s, and the successor of the Apple Watch.
