Apple's new 4-inch iPhone with A9 CPU & Apple Pay coming in 2016

Apple is reportedly panning to launch a 4-inch iPhone in 2016. KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, known for accurate Apple predictions has issued a research note corroborating rumors that Apple will release an 4-inch iPhone next year which will resemble an upgraded iPhone 5s.

The 4-inch iPhone is expected to be made out of metal and come in two or three color. There will also be a glass front that curves slightly at the edges like on the iPhone 6s. It will be equipped with an A9 chipset and NFC to support Apple's mobile payment service, Apple Pay. The camera on the 4-inch iPhone will be same as the iPhone 5s- 8-megapixel rear camera and 1.2-megapixel front facing camera.

The 4-inch iPhone production is said to kick start in Q1 2016 and full-year shipments of the new 4-inch iPhone is said to reach 20 million units, accounting for about 8 to 9 percent of total iPhone sales.

As for the the pricing Ming Chi Kuo notes that the 4-inch iPhone could be priced between $400 and $500 in the U.S, which is $149 to $249 cheaper than the 16GB iPhone 6s. This could mean that Apple is looking forward to target the 4-inch iPhone at emerging markets.
